- Maintenance, calibration and events log
- Instrument correlation plots
- Data cleaning and instrument degradation reviews
- Updated ERA5 data sets and correlations to site data
- Updated shear analyses and profiles
- Updated long-term MOMM wind speeds at measurement locations
- Frequency distributions, wind roses and seasonal distributions
- Analysis of turbulence intensity, temperature, pressure and air density parameters
- Re-calibrated wind maps
Wind Data
Processing and
Cleaning
The Latest raw wind data will be processed, cleaned and reconstructed to remove erroneous data and ensure bankable quality data
Shear Analysis Update
Shear analyses will be conducted on the cleaned data using an ensemble of ten approaches.
Shear variation will be analysed using power and log laws, with constant, hourly. monthly, directional and timestamp approaches to gain an ensembled opinion. The best approaches will be ensembled to arrive at the final hub height wind speeds, thereby improving accuracy and robustness of results.
Long-term Adjustment Update At A Range Of Hub-heights
For each measurement system, the long-term wind speeds will be updated every month based on the current data. Available sources of high-quality reanalysis data sets including ERA5 and MERRA2, in the vicinity of the measurement system will be obtained every month.
Cleaned target data will be linearly correlated with long-term reference data and synthesis will be undertaken to obtain long-term wind series for 800+ approaches involving different averaging periods, historical long-term periods and reference nodes. Low quality approaches will be excluded and ensembling is employed to arrive at the final long-term correction.
Recalibration Of Wind Maps
• Wind maps will be recalibrated on a monthly basis
• Multiple wind flow maps will be included as standard
• Each map will be recalibrated using a single calibration factor and distance-weighted calibration factors from each measurement location
• A final blended wind map will be produced by ensembling the calibrated wind maps, across a range of 10 hub heights
Wind Resource Datasets Update
Updated monthly WRAAS report along with the Google Earth visualiser will be shared and also uploaded in the WindCheck Portal.
